The Role

The SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for the monitoring, maintaining , and operational support of databases. The role will involve providing support in the administration, backup, integrity and security of various SQL databases. .


Responsibilities


  • Monitor the performance of database system resources and query throughput
  • Optimize SQL Code as necessary
  • Monitor and maintain database storage resources
  • Monitor and maintain database maintenance plans for backups, index rebuild/defragment, and database statistics
  • SQL Server Installation, Upgrades, Migrations and Configuration and includes database software service packs and cumulative updates as necessary
  • Maintain database documentation as required.
  • Maintain and administer database security access.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database connectivity issues.
  • Follow Change Management processes to implement database configuration changes with troubleshooting and resolve recurring issues
  • Proactively monitor and respond to MSSQL database Alerts and should communicate to internal teams and with customers if required.


Preferred Qualifications, Training and Experience


  • Graduate in B. Tech/B.E
  • A Minimum of 3-5 years as a database administrator in SQL Server environment
  • DBA certifications a bonus
  • Experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools with performance tuning and optimization
  • Experience working with Windows servers, including Active Directory and disk configurations.
  • Experience in Postgres SQL and Elastic Search Administration
  • Experience in Transact SQL, DTS, SSIS package development.
  • Experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
  • Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
  • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modelling
  • PowerShell shell scripting skills
  • Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
